Mobile Welding Services for Greater Bendigo Businesses
Midland Metalworks is a mobile welding, fabrication and repair business run by Troy Hutchins, based in Golden Square, Bendigo. Troy has spent 17+ years on the tools — across mining, rail and hydro projects, fine automotive and marine work, and general trade fabrication — before backing himself to go out on his own.
What started in a home workshop has grown into a fully registered company with its own fully-equipped Golden Square workshop and a site-ready field vehicle. That means MMW can take the job to your site or handle it in the workshop — whichever gets your gear back up faster.

October 5, 2026I own a Jayco caravan and was adding a second water tank underneath. At the time of ordering the second tank the protection plate and retaining brackets were not available. I got onto Troy, sent him an image of the existing hardware that I needed duplicating. He pretty much confirmed straight away that he could fold up what I needed. After dropping off the samples, with in a couple days Troy had folded up my new plate and brackets. They were spot on and fitted up to the van and new tank perfectly. Well done mate. Prompt, straight forward service. I highly recommend Troy at Midland Metalworks to anyone needing his services.

How much does a mobile welding job cost?
Every job is priced on what it actually involves and invoiced line by line, so you can see exactly what you're paying for — no surprises when the bill lands. Ring Troy or send photos and details, and he'll work through the job with you before any work starts.
Do you come to me, or do I bring the job to you?
Both. Troy brings a fully equipped, site-ready ute to your site for on-site and emergency work, and also runs a fully-equipped workshop in Golden Square for jobs better handled off-site. Whichever gets your gear back up faster is the one he'll recommend.
Are you available after hours and on weekends?
Yes — Midland Metalworks is on call 24/7 for equipment breakdowns across Greater Bendigo. Standard workshop hours are 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday. For an after-hours breakdown, ring Troy directly and he'll confirm an ETA.
Are you insured and ticketed for our site?
Yes. MMW is fully insured, with tickets covering Trade Certificate III, EWP, forklift, dogging, C6 crane, White Card, ESI Worker and Confined Space Entry. The current ABN is published for your procurement checks.
What kinds of jobs do you take on?
From emergency breakdowns and on-site repairs to custom garden metalwork and workshop fabrication — mild steel, aluminium, stainless and structural steel. Troy has a genuine appetite for the one-off, custom and “unfixable” jobs other shops have knocked back.
