What Kind of Jobs Does Troy Take On?
Troy takes on the jobs that keep a business running and the ones other shops knock back. These three show the spread: a one-off smoker build, a cast-iron cylinder head others declined, and a hay baler repaired on the farm before the season. The first two write-ups follow once each job is signed off.

Projects by service
Midland Metalworks Projects by Service
Each job sits under the service it came through: emergency breakdowns, planned site work, garden steel or workshop fabrication. Crack repairs go where the work was done, on site under Emergency or in the workshop under Workshop. Write-ups are added as each job is signed off, so some sections describe the work before they show a finished job.
What emergency breakdown jobs does Troy take on?
Emergency jobs are repairs to working gear that has stopped mid-job, usually done where it broke down. Troy is on call 24/7 for breakdowns, confirms an ETA, then works out why the part failed, not just where. Crack repairs done on site sit here; cracks fixed in the workshop sit under Workshop.
Pre-Season Crack Repair on a Hay Baler
Two cracks found with dye testing, ground out and MIG welded at Warieoo Farms before the season.
Breakdown Repair on an Aluminium Semi-Trailer
A broken actuator mount TIG welded back on site in Newbridge, so the trailer kept its schedule.
What planned site jobs does Troy take on?
Planned site work covers installs, maintenance visits and high-access jobs that Troy books in ahead, Monday to Friday. He turns up with a site-ready ute, his own power and the licences the job needs, including EWP and C6 crane. Farms, factories, quarries and other workshops are all places Troy works.

Planned on-site job
The same job as On-Site’s spotlight card, once a planned job is confirmed: an install, maintenance visit or high-access job.
What garden steel jobs does Troy take on?
Garden jobs are corten and steel pieces made to measure. Retaining walls, planter boxes and tree rings lead, with edging, gates and fire pits too. Troy builds each one to size in the workshop, then installs it on site. If you have a landscaper, he works in with them. Finishes are agreed before you lock the job in.

What workshop jobs does Troy take on?
Workshop jobs run from one-off builds and general fabrication to heavier repairs and structural steel built to plans and specifications. Fleet fit-outs and vintage, automotive and marine repairs belong here too. So do cracks fixed in the workshop, from dye penetrant testing to fixing the cause.
Workshop Crack Repair on an Excavator Boom
Three fatigue cracks in CC Global’s excavator boom, dye tested, ground out, preheated and MIG welded in the workshop.
